Norton House is another popular choice for weddings especially, and the Jiggers have played different types and sizes of events there over the last few years.
Location
Norton House is in Ingleston, just to the west of Edinburgh and has a good 55 acres of land around it.
Quirky Features
Built in 1840 as a “country retreat” for the Ushers (the family behind Glenlivet Whisky), you drive in via the original stone gatehouse and then journey along a tree-lined drive between open fields.
What makes it a good venue?
The grounds are full of squirrels who will keep you entertained on a summer’s evening e.g. at the break before the ceilidh. The food at Norton House is consistently good too!
Our Impressions
We have enjoyed playing in both the Ballroom and also in the Garden Suite and have found the staff always to be pleasant and helpful. Some venues have a rather cold, generic feel when they have purpose-built a new suite, but the Garden Suite is tasteful, bright and relaxing for guests. It has a classy feel to the whole place.
